Animal-Free Alternatives

There are farming models that produce large quantities of highly nutritious foods without using/abusing animals. Not only are these animal-free food production systems better for the animals, they are also better for the environment and global food security, and a more efficient use of our shared natural resources.

Grow Where You Are is a great example. They are a cooperative of veganic farmers and food justice activists in Atlanta, GA. They use animal-free agro-ecology methods to produce food for their community, and to teach others how to grow backyard and neighborhood food gardens — all without using animals or their byproducts. Flow Farm in Aberdeen, NC works on a similar model. Please note: these groups are used as examples and are not affiliated with this campaign.
